Video: Early College High School Convocation

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss.(WCBI)–For many it’s hard to believe that it is almost time to open Mississippi’s very first early college high school.

The 60 members of the GTECHS Class of 2019 of the early college high school were assembled at EMCC for their opening convocation today[Monday]. The first college school starts next week. The students are from Clay, Lowndes, Oktibbeha, and Noxubee Counties.

“We’re so excited to see the kids here. We have gotten to know them just a little bit over the course of the last three to four months. Our faculty is here with them. And its been a great day so far,” said Jill Savely/Principal GTECHS.

BankFirst has donated $25,000 to the early college high school.
