COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -The Golden Triangle’s economic development leader, some former employees, and local businesses are having doubts about whether a billion dollar start-up aluminum maker ever will become a reality. But Roger Boggs and his company, “American Specialty Alloys”, say those doubts are normal for any new company.

He plans to go forward with efforts to secure financing for a state-of-the-art mini-mill, employing 650 people. Lowndes County was originally thought to be the likely site because the company reserved more than 800 acres and Boggs opened a Columbus office. But the Golden Triangle Development Link has put the land back on the market.
