Video: Elvis Fest Tribute Artist Winner Named

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — There is a winner of the 2014 Tupelo Elvis Festival Tribute Artist contest.

20-year-old Ben Thompson is from London, England and this was his first time at the Tupelo festival and competition.

Thompson beat out a field of more than 20 competitors from more than 14 states and three foreign countries.

He says winning in Tupelo, the birthplace of Elvis, has special meaning.

Thompson will now represent the city of Tupelo in Memphis for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition coming up in August.
