MEMPHIS, Tenn. and TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The two planes that Elvis Presley owned in the last two years of his life may soon be removed from the grounds of Graceland. Graceland has asked the owners of the “Lisa Marie” and “Hound Dog II” to prepare to have the planes removed, by next April.

Officials with the Elvis Presley Birthplace in Tupelo say the two planes won’t end up at the top tourist attraction in Mississippi. Dick Guyton, executive director of the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation, says the birthplace focuses on the first 13 years of Elvis’ life, and the planes, while popular attractions at Graceland, wouldn’t fit in at the birthplace.
