Video: EMCC GED Program Celebrates Graduation

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A number of students celebrated a special graduation on Thursday.

10 students participated in the GED graduation ceremony through East Mississippi Community College.

There was a total of 17 GED graduates this semester.

The GED test is a four subject area test that measures students skills.

The theme for the graduation was  “A dream delayed but not denied.”

Students say this night marks a big accomplishment and the start of their future.

“I’ve been working really hard for this. I started off in school and it wasn’t really for me and once I got into the GED program at EMCC, they really helped me out and worked to my advantages,” said GED Graduate J.R. Morgan.
The GED program the only  high school equivalency program built to help adults qualify for college, training, or a good job with good wages.
