MAYHEW, Miss. (WCBI) — East Mississippi Community College is breaking ground on its new student union. Leaders held a ceremony this morning at EMCC’s Mayhew campus. The $17 million facility will serve as the school’s main hub for students by expanding food service and classrooms.

“It’s going to provide 12 additional classrooms for the campus so this is a building that’s going to help meet multiple needs at one time,” said Paul Miller, EMCC ‘s Vice-president of the Golden Triangle campus.

The facility is expected to open in 2016.
