OKTIBBEHA CO., Miss. (WCBI) – For the next four days some 1,000 third graders from Oktibbeha and surrounding counties are expected to visit the Mississippi Horse Park on Poorhouse Road.

The second annual Farmtastic educational initiative helps children learn about the sources of their food, clothing, and other products. They learn about wildlife issues and just have a fun time of learning outside the classroom. They find out things like….how their crayons are made.

“Its amazing that they are made of soybeans,” said Fleming Archer, Farmtastic Visitor.

“We all need to know where all the things we use daily actually comes from,” said Mary Reagan Wilkes, Farmtastic Visitor.

“Almost everything we use comes from farms and plants and animals,” said Katie Randall, Farmtastic Visitor.

The Farmtastic experience can be had by the entire public on Saturday at the Horse Park from 9 in the morning till noon.
