Video: Federal Disaster Money Bolstering Recovery Efforts

TUPELO AND LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Federal money continues to help Mississippians recover from last month’s deadly tornado outbreak.

$11.8 million in federal disaster assistance has been approved for storm victims.

Nearly 4,200 survivors have gone to disaster recovery centers across the state.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) says with the help of multiple agencies debris is being cleared, repairs being made and temporary housing is being installed.

The DRC at the New Hope Community Center in Lowndes County will close today.
