GREENWOOD, Miss. and TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Judge’s ruling clears the way for production to start at a Tishomingo County plant.  Globe Specialty Metals had filed for an injunction to block Mississippi Silicon from beginning production at their 200 million dollar plant at the Northeast Mississippi Waterfront Industrial Park.

Thursday, a Federal Judge dismissed Globe’s complaint. Mississippi Silicon is already in the process of hiring staff for the plant.

When it is complete, it will be the first new Silicon metal production facility in North America in 40 years, and will employ 200 workers.
