Video: Fire Damages East Columbus Home

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -An East Columbus home was heavily damaged in an early morning fire.

Firefighters were called to 204 Gaylane Drive about 3:00A.M. Monday.

The garage and utility room were received the most damage. A woman and her son were able to escape without injury.

Family members tell WCBI they believe the blaze started in the utility room. Columbus firefighters say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
