WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — Testimony in Curtis Flowers’ death row appeal began today at the state Supreme Court.
Flowers’ attorneys say prosecutorial errors is the reason he was convicted of killing four workers at a Winona furniture store in 1996.
The attorneys say there were holes in the case against Flowers, and prosecutors filled the holes with mis-statements about evidence and witness identification.
Flowers was convicted in 2010, and now wants a new trial.
Some trials ended in convictions being overturned or in a mistrial.
Prosecutors say Flowers was a disgruntled employee who had been fired.
