FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) – Fulton officials give the okay to start the bid-seeking process for renovations to the historic Gaither House.

The Gaither House committee has about $30,000 to restore the inside of the Civil War era home. The group wants to return it to its original look.

The money is left over from a $61,000 grant from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History that was used to renovate the outside of the home.

The building is owned by the city of Fulton.

The Gaither House was designated a historical landmark in 2012.
