FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) -If Fulton’s police chief has his way, the city’s pool hall and other recreational centers may have to operate under new rules. Chief Reggie Johnson asked the Board of aldermen to consider regulations for pool halls and similar businesses.

There haven’t been any major problems with the city’s only pool hall, but the chief says the business has been a haven for criminal activity in the past and an ordinance would help ensure that business owners will keep better tabs on what goes on inside and outside their establishments.

“I have began to receive some complaints on a weekly basis from some concerned parents that like for their kids to be able to shoot pool and they’re just worried there’s some activities going on that they really don’t want to leave their kids there.”

Johnson believes an ordinance could be adopted next month. The business owner was not available for comment.
