TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo Apartment Complex wanted to do something to help orphaned children in the community. This wide expanse at the President’s Gate Apartments on Lawndale hosted a fundraiser for the Tupelo Children’s Mansion. Melbra Bell is the property manager and says the theme of Saturday’s festival was “Hope for the Future”.

“We start with our children. If there is any hope for our future, it’s going to be with our children. And why not start with the children who are homeless, abused and neglected. They need us the most,” says Bell.

A representative of the Children’s Mansion expressed their appreciation for the apartment complex’s effort. President’s Gate hoped to raise $1,000 for the mansion which is celebrating it’s 60th anniversary this year.
