WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — A cuddly bear, brightly colored lady bug or bright green turtle might not seem like something an emergency responder might need.

But police officers, firefighters and paramedics say they often are the best medicine for children in traumatic situations.

Girl Scouts in Clay County are responding to that need by collecting stuffed animals to be donated to emergency groups.

They held a collection drive at Kroger, Saturday, and got some help from lots of special friends.
