LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, who was in town for the groundbreaking of the Winston Plywood manufacturing facility, had a chance to tour the area.

Bryant saw first-hand the progress that has been made after the April 28 tornado ripped through the county and Louisville.

An entourage from the capitol drove through Louisville streets Friday.

A big part of rebounding from the disaster includes new housing construction starts.

“Like to show him some of the rebuilds and some of the houses, as well as the private sector rebuild, for we are looking at 35 homes being built,” Louisville Mayor Will Hill said. “There will be market housing, and (we) want to share some of the positive things and also show that there is still a lot of work to be do.”

The governor also had a chance to tour Winston Medical Center.
