Video: Gov. Phil Bryant Makes Stop in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi’s Governor Phil Bryant made a stop in Tupelo to recognize the city’s hard work and industrial growth.

Governor Phil Bryant visited with local city officials and businessmen in Tupelo, reflecting on the city’s recent economic success.

Governor Bryant wanted to recognize the company Raybern, who will be moving their business to Lee county from California, opening up hundreds of jobs for Northeast Mississippi residents.

The company, which invented the frozen sandwich, feeds several thousand people and Governor Bryant says it’s another great business opportunity for North Mississippi.

“They’ll be bringing 200 jobs to Shannon, Mississippi and that is another wonderful announcement as we look at Grammer, as we look at General Atomics, Toyota, all of that. Ashley Furniture Company, this Northeast Mississippi is growing in dynamic numbers. Lee county has a 6.6% unemployment rate, that’s one of the best in the state, so we wanted to come say thank you and make some very exciting announcements,” said Governor Phil Bryant.

Governor Bryant also added that he spoke with the CEO of Raybern, thanking him for bringing his company to North Mississippi.
