STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The former East Oktibbeha High School may be getting a new lease on life.

Tuesday night, a group of County residents came before the Starkville Oktibbeha County School Board to present a proposal to use the former high school for a variety of education support programs and community activities.

Organizers, like Jacqueline Ellis, believe the school can still serve the community.

“We are coming tonight to begin the talks, and hope they look at our program, and consider it. And our school and the community can be utilized and resourceful.”

The school board took no action on the proposal..
