COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The Golden Triangle Regional Airport is looking west.
Armed with a $750,000 grant, Golden Triangle Regional Airport officials are hoping to recruit an airline to provide service to a spot west of the Mississippi.
Winning the cash award was a victory in itself.
“We were able to compete for the grant,” GTRA Executive Director Mike Hainsey said. “It was very competitive. Only 16 airports throughout the country were awarded a grant under this program, so we are thrilled and really excited about it.”
Hainsey says ideally the plan is to secure flights to the Dallas area because a number of local business have operations in the Dallas Fort Worth region.
