HACKLEBURG, Ala. (WCBI) — The town of Hackleburg celebrated a new milestone Friday night at their first home football game of the season.

After three years of playing at other surrounding football stadiums, the panthers enjoyed their first home game on their own soil.

The school was destroyed back in April of 2011 when an EF-5 tornado came through the small town.

High school principal, John Hardin says the community is excited to kick off this football season at home.

“Everybody has been nice to us and letting us play there and trying to accommodate us but it’s a whole different atmosphere when you get to play at home and so we are all excited about it,” says John Hardin.

Hackleburg played against their rival, Marion County.
