COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Mississippi Museum of Natural History outreach educator stopped by Heritage Academy this afternoon.

Outreach Conservator Educator Debora Waz spoke with the sixth grade class at Heritage.

Waz makes the rounds to schools in the state to stress the importance of respecting natural life of all forms.

“Today we are going to be talking about Mississippi wildlife — mostly reptiles, and a little bit of mammals, too,” Waz said. “The live animals I have are four different kinds of turtles and a small alligator.”

Individuals interested in brushing up on their natural history can visit the museum in Jackson.
