STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The New Year is always a time for reflection, a fresh start and…a clean closet. If you are trying to get organized and sort through those dresser drawers, why not make a few bucks by consigning your old things? At Revolution Consignment Shop in Starkville, one person’s trash becomes another person’s hidden treasure.

“You can bring in your clothes, make some money and also buy some clothes too. There’s no place else around here like that,” said Sales Associate Chelsea Feathers.

Revolution Consignment Shop is a bargain shopper’s dream. The Starkville store has been in business for 2 and a half years, accepting and selling gently used men’s and women’s clothing and accessories at great discounts.

“We have so many people come in here and say they can’t come in here and not buy something. We get Miss Me jeans, Affliction, Hollister, American Eagle, Coach bags, Dooney and Bourke, Armani and Hobo purses do the best here. Everybody’s always looking for a good purse. We’ve gotten Jessica Simpson, Gucci purses and Louis Vuitton,” said Manager Jennifer Deignan.

If you are looking to make some space in your closet, the consignment process is simple at Revolution. Bring in any gently used clothing and they’ll set you up an account. The store keeps clothes in season for 60 days. If your items sell, you split the profit with Revolution 50-50. If your items don’t sell in 60 days, they are returned to you or donated to charity. Each item is looked at closely to determine its price.

“We try to research each item online and see how much it goes for retail, and then we price about 25 to 30 percent. We want to get the best of the best,” Deignan said.

Clothes at Revolution are neatly organized by color and there is plenty of room to search through the racks. Most shoppers know it’s a great feeling when you do find that perfect item for a good deal.

“This is the kind of place where you don’t necessarily come looking for one specific thing. But when you do come here, and you find something you love, you’re so much more excited because you got it at a better deal,” said Deignan.

“You’re always going to find something, and if you don’t, we’ll make sure you find something,” Feathers said.
