Video: Historic Towns Team Up To Promote Economic Growth

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Tourism officials across Mississippi are helping to promote economic growth for the state.

Members of the Mississippi Hills Heritage Area Alliances, partner to help market one another’s historic sites throughout towns in Starkville, Tishomingo County and New Albany.

Through upcoming events such as the Annual Columbus Spring Pilgrimage, officials are hoping events like these will help guide tourists to other parts of the state.

“To draw people not only to Columbus but while they are here they may want to spend several more days and it would be good for them to go to Corinth, and Oxford and Tupelo and the other cities in North part of Mississippi,” says Nancy Carpenter.

The Pilgrimage will start March 28th and go through April 12th.
