STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The assault case involving Starkville-Oktibbeha Schools superintendent, Dr. Lewis Holloway and his neighbor will go to trial in justice court next month.

Holloway was scheduled to appear before a judge Tuesday after being charged with two counts of simple assault on August 10th.

Those charges were filed after an alleged argument with his neighbor, Roy Couvion where police say Holloway shot a gun in the air during a disturbance.

Holloway filed assault charges against Couvion a week later.

A judge will hear both sides during a trial on October 27th.

Holloway returned to work last Tuesday after being on suspension since his arrest.
