EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Eupora residents are making sure Eupora Police Officer Keith Crenshaw is not forgotten.

Hundreds of of balloons are released at a business just off Highway 9. One year ago today[Thursday] Crenshaw was killed in the line of duty. He was hit by a getaway car as a bank robbery suspect tried to escape.

“He would make sure when we closed, he was here when we closed. Walked us to our car. When I opened up in the morning he would be here when I opened up, making sure I got in okay and safe. A lot, he did it a lot,” said Dottie Tindall/Eupora.

Friends, family, and others from the community have honored the fallen officer in other ways. In the past there has been a motorcycle ride in his honor.
