HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Houston High School students are bringing home another big win for their community.

The Houston High Sundancer Solar Car Team won the Solar Car Challenge this week for the 14th straight year.

The students beat out several teams across the country in the four-day competition in Texas.

Co-Captain Allyson Taylor tells WCBI they completed the most miles – more than 600 in all – in a solar car they built.

The team is made up of nine students from Houston High School.

Taylor says it feels great to win.

The group is on their way back to Houston with a big trophy, and should be home Saturday night.
