LOUISVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)–Governor Phil Bryant along with other state officials joined local leaders and residents of Louisville and Winston for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Hudson Place.

Beautiful homes can now be seen on Brown Avenue in Louisville. Private Developer Chris Hughes purchased the property named in honor of long time Louisville resident Harold Hudson and has turned it into luxury homes admired by many during the Thursday event.

“Well I feel proud. I feel honored, I feel that I have friends. Feel that people you know recognize me to the extent they would do this for me in my last years,” said Harold Hudson/Louisville.

During the application process for these quality homes, residents displaced by the April 28th Tornado were given priority with the program where homeowners lease to own their property.

“Its good to be in a very nice neighborhood. A clean neighborhood and I understand they are going to keep it clean so all the rules are great with me,” said Carol Miller/Hudson Place Resident.

“If you kind of think back a little while and if you are a resident of Louisville and Winston County, this place was nothing but hills and hollows,” said Harold Hudson/Louisville.

Hudson Place becomes another testament to the resilience of the people of Louisville and Winston County, and a contractor willing to work overtime to see the project through to fruition.

“Well I think its a sense of accomplishment that we were able to build this project and do it in the time frame we did. Fighting the elements and just accomplishment to be able to provide these homes for 35 families before Christmas,” said Chris Hughes/Private Developer.

As can be seen from outdoor Christmas decorations, families have already begun moving into Hudson Place and are already enjoying their quality home.
