Video: Job Seekers Hit MUW Campus for Job Fair

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Job seekers headed to the Mississippi University for Women (MUW) today for one of the area’s largest job fairs.

The Golden Triangle Employment Expo kicked off this morning in the Pohl Gymnasium on campus. 45 employers were on hand, along with military and college representatives.

The job expo is sponsored by WIN job center and MUW..

Job seekers came prepared with resumes for onsite interviews.

“I’m hoping to get as many people to say, ‘Yes, it’s possible,’ and to just show everybody my personality,” Jasmine Murphy, who was seeking internships, said.

“I’m here to hopefully get some great information about jobs and explore my options, because it’s really hard to find jobs in Columbus, Mississippi, so that’s what I’m here for today. and hopefully I’ll find some great success,” Columbus job seeker Gregory Moore said.

This year, the employment expo opened early to give veterans a 30-minute exclusive window.

The job fair closed at 2 p.m. this afternoon.
