COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Former Columbus Mayor and singing troubadour Jeffrey Rupp is one of the main featured artists during a Columbus benefit, “Just 4 Jace.”

The Ethelsville Alabama child with downs syndrome, the youngest of six kids had a whole in his heart and required surgery. A silent auction and raffles are also a part of the event being held at the Courtyard Marriott in Columbus. Mother Goose and Uncle Bunky Williams also made guest appearances at the benefit.

“No matter what he goes through, how many tubes he has attached to him; or how long he is in the hospital, he is always smiling. And even though he is only 16 months, I think we can learn a lot from Jace,” says family friend, Jessie Dyson.

WCBI News Reporter R. H. Brown was on hand to help vocally with the benefit by performing a little taste of karaoke.
