NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) — This weekend is shaping up to be one of the biggest in college football this season — two games, four undefeated SEC teams. Some are calling it “Football MaGeddon.”

Mississippi State University and Ole Miss are both hosting huge games against ranked opponents.

With home team tailgaters, out of state visitors from as far away as Texas and national media crews, traffic around Oxford and Starkville is going to be challenging at best.

Local law enforcement and Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) will be out in force trying to keep things flowing as smoothly as possible.

“You’ve got four undefeated SEC Teams in the state of Mississippi,” MHP Public Information Officer Criss Turnipseed said. “That’s a big weekend. There’s going to be a lot of traffic. There are some big networks coming into town; it’s going to draw a lot more traffic. There’s going to be a lot of tailgaters, so it’s going to be a lot more traffic than just the usual ballgame, due to the hype of the two ball games.”

For traffic updates, individuals can follow MHP on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/mhptroopg for those travelling to MSU, and at http://www.twitter.com/mhptroope for those headed to Oxford.
