AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – A man injured while working on the set of a high school play can proceed with his lawsuit against the school district. Amory High School hired Robert Calonkey to help build the set for its production of Phantom of the Opera in February 2011. While helping adjust lighting, he fell through a hole in a catwalk and landed on the stage 10 feet below. He sued and a Monroe County circuit court judge threw the case out, saying the danger was obvious. The state court of appeals last fall overturned that verdict and today, refused to reconsider it’s decision. That sends the case back to Circuit Court for action.
