TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo Park is in much better shape thanks to members of one church.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints worked with Tupelo’s Parks and Recreation Department to provide man power and family power for the Great American Cleanup at the Music Bend Nature Trail. In step with the ‘Keep America Beautiful” nation-wide event, church members cleared trails of litter, old tires, broken limbs and other debris. The Church members feel it’s a way to give back to the community.

“It’s important to help those that we live with and to beautify the area that we live in. And i think it’s great that the church as a whole is focused on helping the community and making sure the area we live in stays beautiful and clean,” LDS Missionary Sister Leifson.

The work was essential preparation for the city to begin improvements on the three mile trail.
