Video: Lee County Judge’s Race Still Up in the Air

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Affidavit ballots have been counted in a close race for Justice Court Judge in Lee County.

This morning, members of the Lee County Election Commission counted affidavit ballots from Tuesday’s election.

Those ballots will be critical in the race for District 3 Justice Court Judge. Initially, Republican Challenger Phyllis Dye was the apparent winner, the circuit clerk noticed a discrepancy in the final numbers.

A software error had doubled and tripled votes at four precincts and as of Wednesday, Incumbent Sadie Holland had a 57 vote lead.

Those affidavit ballots will make a difference. The ballots won’t be certified until Tuesday or Wednesday.
