SHANNON, Miss. (WCBI) — Residents of Shannon got to learn about the plans about the much needed renovations to the high school. Lee County Superintendent Jimmy Weeks briefed residents about the project which is one of nine that will be funded through the 12-point-5 million dollar bond issue passed last summer. Weeks says Shannon students have been dealing with overcrowding.

Weeks says he does not know what the cost of the Shannon high school project will be. But he is confident that all the projects will come in at or even under budget. He says there will be public hearings at Mooreville Elementary and Guntown at yet to be determined dates.
