NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) — Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves made a stop in New Albany. The Union County Republican Women hosted the event, so the women could get an insight to the current direction of state politics.

Reeves discussed conservative values, budget cuts, and the upcoming agenda. He also took the opportunity to throw his support behind Senator Thad Cochran, just in time for his runoff with Chris McDaniel.

“Well I think Senator Cochran’s leadership is extremely important for the future of our state,”said Reeves. “I think we’ve got an opportunity to send Senator Cochran back to Washington and he is in line to be the Chairman of operations in the United States Senate.”

Reeves is in his first term as the State’s Lieutenant Governor; he previously served as State Treasurer.
