MAYHEW, Miss. (WCBI) – A new state-of-the-art skills training center planned for the Golden Triangle will be built in a new location.

Golden Triangle Development Link CEO Joe Higgins says the “Communiversity”, originally slated to be built on 12 acres at the entrance to Golden Triangle Airport complex, will now be built on vacant property next to Paccar.

The partnership between The Link and East Mississippi Community College will serve Lowndes, Oktibbeha, and Clay counties. The new location will add much needed space for more advanced training.”

“Good partnership between economic development and workforce development and the county community college to help elevate…give opportunity for students here in the Golden Triangle area.

“When we started looking at the alternative site, it gave us the ability to add ten more training bays from 15 going to 25. It allows us to add double the parking that we had.”

Lowndes County has committed 10 million dollars to the project. State and federal funds will provide 24 million.
