COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Keep moving. That was the message for some seasoned citizens in Columbus. Gentiva Home Health debuted a new fitness program at Trinity Place in Columbus. The workout is designed to keep residents active and moving with a focus of building strength and balance, so they can avoid injury.

“As long as we are moving we feel better mentally. We feel better physically, and it helps to prevent those dreaded falls. We learn that just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean that you have to fall. We can avoid those falls by staying stronger.”

Participants were also given pedometers to encourage them to keep moving by keeping up with the number of steps they take each day.
