LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Eiland Ave. was one of the hardest hit areas in Louisville, but now some residents are moving ahead with plans to rebuild.

Willie Macon’s home was completely destroyed in the April 28 storm. He was home with his wife and five grandchildren when the tornado hit, but thankfully, no one was injured.

Macon’s home was fully insured. Now that he’s cleared the debris from his property, he’s making plans to rebuild his family home.

“I have about three contractors I’m dealing with,” Macon said. “One gave me a price. I’m waiting on the other two to give me a price. I’m thinking about going on to rebuild. That’s what my kids want me to do, so I’m thinking about going on the rebuild.”

Macon says he hopes to have his family back on Eiland Ave. just in time for Christmas.
