LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A school in Louisville will soon get a much needed makeover.

The school board recently gave their architect approval to start advertising for bids to renovate the Eiland Middle School gym.

Superintendent Ken McMullan tells WCBI the gym is in much need of repair.

It’s used for physical education, school plays and assemblies.

McMullan says they hope to start construction in May, and have it ready by next school year.

The school district is also waiting to hear back from FEMA on a grant to make Nanih Waiya Attendance Center a tornado shelter.

If the school receives the grant money, construction will start right away.
