Video: Lowndes County Finalizing Plans for New 911 Facility

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Construction of expanded Lowndes County E-9-1-1 offices and dispatch areas could begin by July. Project Manager Bill Whittle told supervisors on Wednesday some redesign work will be done in about 30 days and the project advertised in late May. Bids could be awarded by early July on the estimated one point 6 million dollar project. Construction will take about a year. The county is expanding the existing 9-1-1 and emergency management offices to the east and south to provide more meeting and training areas.
