Video: Lowndes County School Officials Cancel Bond Information Meeting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Mother Nature gets in the way a second time of Lowndes County schools’ efforts to answer questions and drum up support for a 44 million dollar bond issue.
Thursday’s community meeting at New Hope Elementary School was cancelled because weather closed schools. The meeting is reset for March 17th at 6 p.m. Other meetings will follow later in the month and in April. Residents of the county school district will vote May 12th on the bond issue. If approved by 60 percent, the money will build a new vo-tech center and New Hope High and make improvements to schools in Caledonia and West Lowndes.
