COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Construction will soon begin on a new Lowndes County Emergency Management Agency building. Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors chose Weather’s Construction to build the new facility. The price tag will be $1,440,000.00

The project expands the current EMA and E911 building, providing better working conditions for dispatchers.

“Weather’s Construction was the lowest bidder. They came in almost $100,000 less than the estimate on what it was going to cost. They’ve got 390 days to complete it with 30 days in there for the transition period between the old building being remodeled and the new building being done.”

The next board meeting will be July6th.
