TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a special concert by one of the most popular Elvis Tribute Artists.

Cody Slaughter, performed a full concert at Tupelo’s The Ice House Saturday evening. Slaughter won the 2011 Elvis Fest Ultimate Tribute Artist Competition, then went on to win the tribute artist contest in Memphis that same year.

Since then he ‘s been on numerous television shows such as David Letterman, he has also starred in the broadway production of “The Million Dollar Quartet.”

 Slaughter says it’s always a special treat to come back to Tupelo.

“They key to this is to have fun, not think too hard about anything, that’s what I like to do, tonight we’re going to do a couple of hours and just go until they boo me off the stage, we’re going to go through all the music from the early days to the very end,” Slaughter said.

Cody was presented a key to the city by Mayor Jason Shelton.
