MANTACHIE, Miss. (WCBI)  – There will not be any changes to a dangerous dog ordinance in the town of Mantachie. Last week, An Itawamba County Circuit Court Judge ruled against Mantachie resident Sharon McAlister. She was ordered to comply with the town of Mantachie’s dangerous dog ordinance.

McAlister will have to register her American Pit Bull as a dangerous animal and keep him either in her residence, or inside an enclosure that follows the law.

The situation has caused many to question the town’s ordinance, calling for a revision. However, the mayor’s office says as of right now, there is no discussion about changing or revamping the dangerous dog ordinance.

McAlister claims the dog is a service dog for her son, who suffers from a neuromuscular condition.

Neighbors claimed the dog has shown aggressive traits in the past, but has never bitten anyone.

McAlister was ordered, on two separate occasions, to comply with the town’s dangerous dog ordinance.
