COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Their organization grants wishes to children every year. And today, Make-A-Wish Mississippi Senior Director of Development Rod Henderson shared stories of the organizations impact on Lowndes County.

Henderson was the featured speaker at the Columbus Exchange Club today.

Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit organization which uses donations to help enrich the lives of terminally ill children through unforgettable experiences.

“We have granted, since 2009, about 14 wishes here in Lowndes County,” Henderson said. “Just telling them about the stories of kids, the impact that make a wish has on these kids and the value of what make a wish does for the wish child, for the family, and even for the volunteers, for those involved.”

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980.
