Video: Mississippi DEQ Fines Salvage Company Over Asbestos Issues at West Point Bryan Plant

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Demolition of the old Bryan Plant in West Point will cost the salvage company. The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality fined Kohart Surplus and Salvage 75 hundred dollars for starting to tear down the building before checking for asbestos.The cancer-causing fiber was discovered in the plant and has to be removed before demolition work can resume. The Ohio firm has been given until the end of the year to clear asbestos from the property.
