Video: Mississippi State Kicks Off Homecoming Weekend

STARKVILLE, Miss.–Mississippi State alumni, students, employees and friends throughout the state are being invited to a week of fun activities leading to the university’s 2013 Homecoming celebration Friday and Saturday, October 11th and 12th.

“Live Maroon and White Forever” is the theme for this year’s gathering. Official homecoming posters and T-shirts are on sale at the Barnes & Noble at Mississippi State Bookstore, featuring artwork designed by junior business administration major Thomas Fitzner of Columbus.

A list of MSU Student Association-organized pre-weekend events–each free and open to all–may be viewed at www.sa.msstate.edu/programs/homecoming.

The weekend events–also free to all–include:

Friday the 11th

–5 p.m., Chili Cook-Off, MSU Amphitheater;

–5:30 p.m., homecoming parade through campus, launching from the former Aiken Village on College View Drive and concluding in the Junction;

–7 p.m., National Pan-Hellenic Council Step Show, Newell-Grissom Building;

–7 p.m., MSU-University of Florida soccer game, MSU Soccer Field.

 

Saturday the 12th

–6 p.m., MSU-Bowling Green State University football game and presentation of homecoming queen and court, Scott Field at Davis Wade Stadium.
