Video: Motivational Speaker Gives Talk at Shannon H.S.

SHANNON, Miss. (WCBI) – A former high school and college football player who travels the country motivating young people made a stop in Shannon Tuesday.

Donnie Thurmon, Jr. spoke to students at Shannon High School.

The four-year letterman at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina now serves as a youth pastor.

He says he hopes his message inspires students to use their individual gifts to become successful and make a difference in the world.

Since 2004, Thurmon has spoken to more than 850, 000 youth nationwide at different school and churches.
