COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — It may be August, but Students from the Mississippi School for Math and Science are getting ready for Pilgrimage.

The students are taking part in Tales From the Crypt. Their first stop is the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library where they started researching their characters today.

Friday they will head to Friendship Cemetery to visit the grave sites.

“I hope to read and find out like what her past was, and how she lived her life, and what she specialized in. Did she have any special talents?” MSMS student Abigail Osburn said.

“I have not done any research on him yet, but I chose him because I saw his name, it was a gut feeling,” MSMS student Gianni Stennis said. “It spoke to me.”

This is the 25th edition of “Tales From the Crypt.” The program has won the Governor’s Award for Excellence, and has been a finalist for the History Channel’s “Save Our History Award.”
