STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi State University alumni open their wallets in a big way.
The university closed out June 30 with a record $106 million in private donations and pledges this year.
That’s $20 million more than the previous record set in 2012.
This year’s donations include everything from money to build a golf headquarters at Old Waverly to money for a seventh and eighth grade demonstration school partnership with the consolidated Starkville-Oktibbeha County school district.
Donations came from more than 1,800 alumni, almost 20 percent of the total graduates.
